Effective Advertising
It can be as simple as your name on a pad of paper that you hand out, or a tee shirt you wear with your company logotype. Any opportunity to get your company name and look out there to your customers is crucial—and very doable.
You are already in the Yellow Pages, you say. Yes, along with 20 other vendors in your field. How do you stand out from the pack on a small budget?
A Few Ideas
- Instead of a full page ad, go to two, ¼ page ads, each with a different message about your company placed several pages apart.
- Change your ads (not your logo!) so they are fresh, yet have a connection to your core message.
- Have a continual message. Like those highway road signs of the past, have ads that tease your customers into reading each ad and finding the connection.
- Make your ads less text-intensive and more eye-catching.
- Humor, if pertinent to your industry, works well, as do noticeable graphics.
Think About
- Advertising in local community group newsletters and bulletins.
- Giveaways—for mere cents, you can have pens, pencils, pads or something clever with your name and logo on it.
- Having tee shirts printed up with your company logo for you and your staff.
- Attending industry conferences to hand out newsletters and brochures.
- Creating a Web site ad.
